Queensland has axed the requirement for travellers to get a PCR test on their fifth day in the state, with anyone currently lining up for the test told they can leave.

The announcement comes after mounting pressure from other states, with NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard earlier today imploring Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to remove the PCR test requirement for those wanting to enter Queensland.

Queensland Health Minister Yvette D'Ath made the announcement to remove the five-day testing requirement this morning, saying only 0.6 per cent of those tested on day five had returned positive results.
