Australian cricket fans need not go into withdrawal after a four-month feast of winter action that included the World Cup and the Ashes.
The domestic summer is already starting.
Western Australia and Victoria will kick off the new season on Saturday, playing at the WACA for the first game of the revamped Marsh One-Day Cup.
The vast majority of Australia’s Ashes stars have been rested by their states for the opening rounds, and have therefore not been named in squads yet.
Nonetheless, there are some massive names expected to feature at some point in this year’s two-month competition, such as Steve Smith (NSW), Travis Head (SA), Usman Khawaja (QLD), Matthew Wade (TAS), Mitch Marsh (WA) and James Pattinson (VIC).
