This may be your chance to get a first-hand taste of marine biology.

Sunshine Coast Reef Check Australia is now taking expressions of interest for its reef surveyor and reef ambassador volunteer training for next year.

The charity is dedicated to protecting reefs and oceans through innovative environmental strategy and empowering people.

The hub is based in Mooloolaba and the volunteers span far and wide across the Coast.

This is the first year of the ambassador program and so far it has been a success with 19 fully trained volunteers.

Interested ambassadors don't need a marine biology or science based background. Reef Check is looking for people who are passionate about the environment and taking action.

The organisation is also looking for SCUBA surveyors.
