Thousands of Coast homes without power after wild winds

UPDATE 8AM: THOUSANDS of Sunshine Coast residents were without power this morning after rain and wild winds brought down trees onto power lines.
Energex spokesman Danny Donald said 2234 customers lost power in the Buderim area from 5.30am after a branch came down on some high-voltage mains at Ballinger Crescent.
The Nambour area also felt the brunt of strong winds when a branch came down on a line at Image Flat Rd, with 189 households impacted between 1.20am to 2.30am.
Mr Donald said those in Kureelpa most affected.
